Here’s a look at what my TRE sessions look like ✨ TRE stands for ‘Trauma & Tension Releasing Exercises’ and it is a set of gentle exercises that activate our body’s innate tremor mechanism, allowing us to release deep-seated tension and trauma. It was developed by Dr. David Berceli, who recognized that recognised this natural tremor response within humans and how it reduces stress in the body 🤍

💫 How does it work? Our bodies have a natural mechanism to release tension and stress, just like animals do. However, in our modern lives, we often suppress these tremors, leading to stored tension and trauma. TRE exercises help reactivate this mechanism, giving our bodies the space to release and let go.

🧘‍♀️The Process:

1. Warm-up: We start with gentle breathing exercises to prepare our muscles and connect with our body.

2. Inviting the Tremors: We lie down and as we rest and relax, we listen to the guiding voice of the TRE practitioner. Eventually our bodies begin to naturally tremor, and we create a safe space for the release of tension.

3. Integration: After the tremors, we engage in grounding exercises to help integrate the experience and return to a state of calm.

When you do TRE, your body might shake a little. This shaking isn’t just about releasing tension; it can also uncover emotions tucked away in your body 🧘🏽‍♀️ In many cases, the tension in one’s body is caused by negative and painful emotions that we have not expressed or processed. Like a gentle message, these shakes help emotions come to the surface ✨

Here are some tips to follow in your daily routine or in times where you feel stressed and overwhelmed ✨

1. Breathe deeply - in for 6 seconds and out for 6 seconds 🫁 it’s better to breathe in and out your nose.

2. Give yourself a gentle hug and squeeze - a reminder that you are worthy of love and respect 🤍

3. Ensure that you are getting enough sleep 💤 on average we need at least 8 hours

4. Unplug from social media - get rid of all the distractions and read a book

5. Run yourself a hot bath and add some epsom salts in it 🛁 these salts cause your muscles to relax thereby decreasing any tension your body is storing

6. Spend time with friends and family that make you feel good 🥰 you don’t want to spend time with people who drain you, rather people who full you up

7. Grounding exercises are a good way to bring you back into this earth and to be fully present in nature 🍃 walk barefoot on the grass

8. Nourish yourself 🥕🥦

9. Get your body moving - run, walk, dance, stretch, do some yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️

10. Shake it off with TRE ✨

What are your self-limiting belief?

Self-limiting beliefs are subconscious beliefs that hold us back from doing things and taking risks 🫣 Self limiting beliefs are critical components that we with with in Quantum Energy Coaching (QEC). They may be likened to a handbrake that suddenly pops up on a long journey. Some people are able to quickly push the hand break down and carry on whilst others struggle to, preventing them from journeying and exploring further.

Maybe you started a new exercise routine, but gave up quickly because you thought, “What’s the point? I’ll never get fit.” 🤷🏽‍♀️ Possibly you heard about a new job opportunity, but never applied because you thought, “I shouldn’t bother. I won’t get it because I’m not experienced enough.” These are examples of self-limiting beliefs. As you can see, they prevent people from reaching their true potential.

I want you to ask yourself, “What are my self-limiting beliefs?”. If it is hard for you to think of one, think about a time where you wanted to go for something but held yourself back, a time when self-doubt crept in, or a time when you’ve thought that you couldn’t or shouldn’t do something.

The beauty of being aware of your self-limiting beliefs is that it’s the first step in healing 🤍 However, ignoring that self doubt can be tricky and some of us may need assistance in doing so. This is what QEC is about - it is about unpacking those limiting beliefs and changing them into more empowering ones.
